Bremanger Quarry “the Green Quarry”
The quarry in Norway distinguishes itself from traditional quarries by a number of innovations which result in substantial CO2 reduction:

• Routing inside the quarry Transport movements of dump trucks only take place horizontally which saves energy.

• Gravity Optimal use of gravity results in an energy-neutral crushing process in the quarry. The surplus of generated energy is supplied to the Norwegian electricity grid.

• Shipping capacity Utilization of the largest self-loading bulk carriers results in an energy use per shipped metric ton, which is up to 5 times more efficient than traditional coasters.
